With Christmas less than a month away I thought it would be a great time to share our cozy Christmas bedroom. I have never really decorated our master bedroom for Christmas in the past but I thought I would give it a try this year. Most of the decor I already owned and it is neutral enough to transition through different seasons. Our furniture is a little older and all black so by mixing in some lighter linens and adding pattern it doesn’t feel as heavy. The pattern and texture also add some interest as well as focus your eye on something other than the actual furniture. The goal was to create a warm, cozy and sort of whimsy feeling. I didn’t want our room to look to serious and buttoned up this season…maybe next year?
A few items that you may already have or could find at many different price points that would make your bedroom feel warm and welcoming include; throw pillows. throw blankets, a warm duvet, candles, a reading chair, and a good book. Oh, and don’t forget the coffee or tea!! If you only have a small budget just keep your overall decor and colour palette in mind so that each item can be easily used in other areas of your home like your living room. Try to buy decorative pillows with washable covers that can easily be unzipped or unbuttoned, that way you can wash the cover and you can easily switch it out from season to season.
In our bedroom, I added a few playful frames with seasonal sayings all inspired by Christmas carols, a fun two-sided throw on our bed that can be used on either side (pattern or wool side up or down), a Christmas tree, and a few white trees, silver wire stars on our nightstands, and a clear glass box holding spray painted pine cones. And voila you have yourself a warm and cozy Christmas bedroom!
